26 May 2008 - Bluebell survey - native, Spanish or a hybrid?

Plantlife has joined forces with the Natural History Museum and the Ramblers Association to survey Britain's bluebells  - Britain has 50% of the world population of bluebells. People are needed to record the types of bluebells seen in their area - native (Hyacinthoides non-scripta), Spanish (Hyacinthoides hispanica) or a hybrid (Hyacinthoides x massartiana), to study  the spread of the Spansh or the hybrid varieties. More details can be found on Plantlife's website, including how to identify the different species and how to acess the on-line survey form.
